MEXICO CITY - Mexico's attorney general on Wednesday demanded U.S. authorities do more to stop guns and drug money from heading south and fueling the drug violence in Mexico that left more 2,000 dead last year.
"It's truly absurd that a person can get together 50 to 100 high powered arms, grenade launchers, fragmentation grenades, and can transport this cargo to our country," Medina Mora said. "It's a task that needs a much more decided and determined effort from the U.S. government, and it's one of the demands we have put on the table."
"It's unthinkable that organized crime can get these amounts of money," Medina Mora said. "These transactions are not happening within the (Mexican) financial system. They are mostly from the flow of cash from the United States to Mexico."
Gosh more demands by the Mexican government. Don't they know that these poor drug smugglers are just trying to feed their families? Just doing the jobs that Americans won't do. What is truly absurd is that the Mexican and American government don't admit that they are the complicit in this tragedy by not working together to secure the border from both sides. The most logical solution is often the simplest solution.

If it ain't broke, don't price-fix it.
Bush administration lawyers urged the Supreme Court on Monday to repeal the nearly 100 year old that bans manufacturers from fixing prices of their products.
The government argues that the price-fixing rule is too rigid and makes it more difficult for companies to market their products with special displays in stores.
The National Assoc. of Manufacturers and other business groups have joined the Bush Adm. in urging the court to pull back on enforcement of antitrust laws. The laws have been in effect since 1911.
Changing this law would allow companies to set minimum prices that stores could sell a product.
My first impression is that it can only cost me more money to buy the the things I buy now. I don't see any advantage at all for the buying public. I also don't see the role of the Federal Government promoting price fixing especially now that more and more companies are consolidating and being gobbled up by large multinationals. I also don't believe that it is the job of the Supreme Court to make or repeal laws. I was led to believe their responsibility was to determine whether the laws passed by Congress were constitutional or not. The separation of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches seem to be disappearing almost as fast as our individual freedoms are.

GLOBALOSITY KILLED THE CAT
We used to say "Curiosity Killed the Cat", but "Globalism Killed the Cat" may be more accurate.
The Food and Drug Administration has said the investigation into the pet deaths was focused on wheat gluten in the food. The gluten itself would not cause kidney failure, but it could have been contaminated, the FDA said.
Paul Henderson, chief executive of Menu Foods, confirmed Friday that the wheat gluten was purchased from China.
The point is although the U.S. exports nearly two thirds of the wheat it produces and it is grown in at least 42 states, why are the pet food companies buying wheat gluten from China? With our staggering trade deficit with China it seems the last thing we need to import is a wheat product. I realize the company in question is Canadian and the plant in Kansas but why are we buying pet food from them? If you say that we can't compete on price then why are most of the names on the list of suspected products some of the most expense brands such as Science Diet, Iams, and Eukanuba?
We have spent decades and billions of dollars refining our product and worker safety codes and regulations only to abandon these practices in just a few short years to the siren call of "Globalization". We are constantly told that it is a global economy and there is nothing we can do about it, I suggest that is nothing more than manipulation. Do what you can to buy locally from your neighbors when ever possible. Check out the origins of your purchase if possible. Don't purchase what you don't need. Reuse and recycle. Remember that when you shop for the lowest priced items you are not considering the true cost equation. You are probably adding to the hugh national trade imbalance, costing your neighbor a job, decreasing the local tax base that funds your schools and other local projects and supporting countries that often imposed tariffs and restrictions that make it impossible for us to sell goods to them. Free trade is not the same as FAIR TRADE.

Don't call them Freedom Fighters
I could be wrong but I think if you use children as decoys in order to carry out your plan of destruction, you shed any doubt for those who would call you a freedom fighter instead of a cold blooded heartless murdering terrorist.

"Children in the back seat lowered suspicion, (so) we let it move through, they parked the vehicle, the adults run out and detonate it with the children in the back," Barbero told reporters in Washington. "The brutality and ruthless nature of this enemy hasn't changed."
Last April, a Marine told an Associated Press reporter in Ramadi that he was shot at by insurgents who were holding children. Other Marines on patrol in the city west of Baghdad have said Sunni insurgents ask children to check out American defenses or warn them of approaching convoys.
I also think it's ingenuous to call them "insurgents" or any other politically correct euphemism.

Desensitizing, Jamming, and Conversion
First you need an attack plan. How do you convince the general public to accept and embrace the minority gay lifestyle? PARIS -- A new law in France makes it a crime for anyone who is not a professional journalist to film real-world violence and distribute the images on the Internet.
Critics call it a clumsy effort by authorities to battle "happy slapping," the youth fad of filming violent acts - which most often they have provoked - and spreading the images on the Web or between mobile phones.
Ligue Odebi, an association that seeks to protect freedom of expression on the Internet, said the measure will also hinder citizens' abilities to expose police brutality.
"This makes France the Western country that most infringes on freedom of expression and information - particularly on the Internet," the group said in a statement on its Web site.
Violators will be subject to up to five years in prison and nearly $100,000 in fines.

The Justice Department on Wednesday announced the largest drug bust in 10 years as it rounded up more than 400 members of a Mexico-based cartel distributing tons of cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamines in the United States.
Federal or state charges were unsealed Wednesday morning against 139 defendants in California, Arizona, Illinois and New York.
The 20-month investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and aided by more than 100 federal, state, local and foreign law enforcement agencies, has so far resulted in the seizure of approximately $45.2 million, 27,229 pounds of marijuana, 9,512 pounds of cocaine, 705 pounds of methamphetamine, 227 pounds of pure methamphetamine or "ice," and 11 pounds of heroin.
So, drug cartels are cooking meth in what are called 'super labs' outside of the country, then smuggling the drugs into the United States through regular smuggling routes along the southern border.
While the enormity and scope of this bust is overwhelming, what is more interesting is the lack of coverage in the main stream media. In searching for more info on this bust I Googled "Largest Drug Bust", "$45 Million drug bust", "Mexican cartels" etc. and was not surprised to see Fox News at the top of the list but rather, to not see any other major media listed. No NY Times, no LA Times. Try it yourself maybe I'm not that good at Googling. Perhaps this is why when discussing the illegal immigration problem I am often told that I am a xenophobic, racist overreactionary.
Here in Oregon we have relegated the non-prescription cold medicine to prescription status to stop the local mom and pop meth producers we have ignored the source of rivers of illegal drugs flowing from the south. Open borders are like open sores, they invite infection and grow every day.

How to fix our broken immigration laws
For all you who want to "fix" our broken immigration laws, how about these immigration laws which include:
# in the country legally;
# have the means to sustain themselves economically;
# not destined to be burdens on society;
# of economic and social benefit to society;
# of good character and have no criminal records; and
# contributors to the general well-being of the nation.
The law also ensures that:
# immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
# foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
# foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country's internal politics;
# foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
# foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
# those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
These seem pretty common sense. These are the Mexican immigration laws, worth a look.

Men found guilty of jealousy or indifference could face up to five years in prison, the newspaper said. Mexico's individual states will determine the punishments, it said.
The progressive new law was passed this month to protect women from domestic violence.
Perez Duarte said indifference, jealousy or lack of love were crimes against women just as much as physical violence.
"Jealousy produces a particular type of stress in the person that comes up against it," she said. "It is exactly the same. They are wounds, psychological scars identical to physical scars."

The Students for a Democratic Fascist Society have once again managed to shut down the free exchange of ideas like the true fascists that they are. A debate was scheduled to be held at UCLA between Carl Braun the California State Director of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and Dr. Yaron Brook of the Ayn Rand Institute regarding border security.
"Apparently the open border advocates will infringe upon our constitutional rights to free speech because they are worried that we will educate college students about the criminal elements that enter our country illegally while they simultaneously threaten the personal security of our members," stated Chris Simcox, founder and President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.
Anarchist websites urged like minded free speech haters to show up and protest. They even gave tips on how to avoid the police and how to wear clothing that helps protect them from Tazers.

A Modest Proposal for the governor
Since Oregon Governor K. suggests that Oregon Climatologist George Taylor stop using the title because it does not represent the states position on climate change, I have a humble request.
Since I disagree with almost all of the governor's views and his leadership, and the fact that he won by less than 51% of the vote, I think he should be known as the "1/2- Governor of Oregon".

Oregon governor Comrade Kolongoski is demanding loyalty to the state. Since the opinions of state climatologist George Taylor don't fit into the governor's program, Kolongoski is suggesting that he be stripped of his title and given to an appointee. Sen. Brad Avakian, (D) Washington County, is sponsoring the bill. He said global warming is so important to state policy it's important to have a climatologist as a consultant to the governor.
The Governor says, "I just think there has to be somebody that says, 'this is the state position on this.'"
Perhaps Mr. Taylor needs to be sent to a "global warming" indoctrination camp. The last thing we need is for this highly acclaimed climate scientist to interfere with our agenda.
While the MSM insists that the global warming we are experiencing is "very" likely caused by human activity, there are still courageous conscientious experts that insist on keeping an open mind and following the scientific method. The truth stands on it's own and doesn't shy away from any challenge.

More evidence is finally coming out about the obvious railroading of the two border agents Ramos and Compean.
Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, yesterday called for the resignation of four DHS investigators, including Assistant Inspector General Elizabeth Redman, after DHS Inspector General Richard Skinner testified under oath his deputies had lied to Congress about non-existent reports that were supposed to have established Ramos and Compean as rogue cops who wanted to "shoot some Mexicans."
These non-existent reports were the primary reason that these border guards testimonies were suspect.
Medical records obtained by WND clearly establish the bullet wounds suffered by Aldrete-Davila involved a lateral wound to the left buttocks, not a "shot in the back" as repeatedly claimed by Sutton. This is completely contrary to the claim that the smuggler was shot in the back as he tried to run away, but is more consistent with someone in a threatning sideways stance perhaps pointing a gun.
The smugglers handler, DHS Special Agent Christopher Sanchez, who had signed a number of the reports used to convict Ramos and Compean also sheparded the smuggler around and when he was released from the hospital, Sanchez took possession of the removed bullet and took it home, breaking the "chain of evidence". The facts must come out and those responsible for this injustice must be punished.

There's gold in that there Global Warming!
The same people that are running around the nation touting the benefits of turning our state highways into toll roads are now salivating about the many ways they can cash in on the "Global Warming" hysteria. One of these is "carbon cap-and-trade", selling Carbon credits.
Morgan Stanley vice chairman Jon Anda wants us to “to think of climate change in cash flow terms: imagine a series of payments over many years to cover the damage from carbon emissions… Simply put, we have a carbon liability and the value of that liability is rising”.
"Although he doesn’t mention this in his Financial Times article, one big future winner may be Anda’s own firm. Morgan Stanley announced last October that it “plans to invest in approximately $3 billion of carbon/emission credits, projects and other initiatives related to greenhouse gas emissions over the next five years.”
"Another big winner may be Wall Street powerhouse Goldman Sachs, part owner of the European Climate Exchange and the Chicago Climate Exchange – the exclusive marketplaces for trading carbon credits."
"And although Anda avoids discussing the all-important flip side of his conclusion, just who are the “losers” providing the “winners” with their dubiously-gained profits?
That’s easy. Just look in the mirror. As outgoing chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., wrote in the Dec. 18 Wall Street Journal, cap-and-trade “would cost the average American family more than $2,700 a year while having no measurable impact on global temperature.”
It's interesting that the evidence behind the much anticipated U.N.'s forth report on climate change was withheld for 4 or 5 months so that "changes... [can be] made after acceptance by the working group or the panel... to ensure consistency with the 'Summary for Policymakers'.

Arizona Legislator wants to criminalize defenders
She looks innocent enough doesn't she?Arizona House of Representative Kyrsten Sinema (District 15, Phoenix) is proposing legislation that would revise an Arizona criminal statute that would make felons out of patriots, and classify groups such as the Minutemen, Guardian Angels or anyone daring to voluntarily identify and report illegal activity in her state as "domestic terrorists" and worthy of a 6-month minimum stint in prison.
The following is a text of the bill she is sponsers:
A. An individual or group of individuals commits domestic terrorism if the individual or group of individuals are not affiliated with a local, state or federal law enforcement entity and associate with another individual or group of individuals as an organization, group, corporation or company for the purpose of patrolling to detect alleged illegal activity or to individually patrol for the purpose of detecting alleged illegal activity and if the individual or group of individuals is armed with a firearm or other weapon.
B. Any city, town or county that suffers injury arising out of a violation of this section may maintain an action in superior court for the recovery of damages or for an injunction, or both. the court may award the successful party reasonable attorney fees.
C. If the court sentences the defendant to a term of probation, the court shall order that as an initial condition of probation the defendant be imprisoned in the county jail for a period of not less than six months. This jail term of incarceration shall not be deferred, deleted or otherwise suspended and shall commence on the date of sentencing. THis subsection does not apply to persons who are sentenced to serve a period of incarceration in the state department of corrections.
D. A violation of this section is a class 5 felony.
Obviously Ms. Sinema does not believe in the second amendment or the right for law abiding Americans to defend their own country, property or themselves. The Minutemen who are often discribed as NeoNazis, KKK, and right-wing extremist zenophobes, to date have not had one documented instance of perpetuated violence. On the contrary, when ever they have assembled to lodge peaceful legal protests, they are generally the victims of verbal and even physical assault. It is clear that Ms. Sinema is an enemy to the majority of Americans that believe in securing our borders and having a well regulated and sustainable immigration policy. If you can't silence the media, buy it.
You have to ask yourself why a large Australian bank would be interested in owning over 40 small newspapers in the U.S.? Well maybe it's because Macquarie Bank is Australia's largest capital rising firm and has invested billions in purchasing roads in U.S., Canada and U.K.
With the rising opposition to the Nafta Superhighway mounting, the investors are feeling the heat. In many of the small communities in the Trans-Texas corridor these newspapers are very important. "The newspapers are the main communication tool for many of the rural Texan communities, with many citizens at risk of losing their homes and farms through eminent domain," Costello wrote.
Many of these small papers have been very critical to the whole toll road project.
