Sorry Felipe-no amnesty for you.

Mexico President: Senate Made Grave Error

MEXICO CITY(AP)— The U.S. Senate made a grave error by failing to pass
legislation that would have led to the legalization of millions of
unlawful immigrants, Mexican President Felipe Calderon said Thursday.

The U.S. “economy could not prosper and advance without the labor of
Mexican and Central American immigrants,” he told a news conference
held with visiting Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.

Well gosh I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens if the government actually enforces our laws and secures the border.

El Presidente offered harsh words regarding the death of the Amnesty Bill:

President Felipe Calderon of Mexico today blasted the U.S. Senate's rejection of the immigration bill, calling the senators' action "a grave error" that avoided a "sensible, rational and legal solution."

Well, el Presidente, how about this: rein in the endemic corruption in your country. Make your country a place where your citizens want to live, rather than escape from. The only grave error, el Presidente, stems from your failure. We have no obligation to your citizens; that's your job.

We're just getting started, el Presidente. Most of us, whether Democrat or Republican or Independent, have just had about enough of "espanol-only" enclaves within our cities. We expect people who come here to learn the language and to assimmilate into our society. We ain't Quebec.

We expect the citizens of your country who wish to come into our country to do so legally, and as you may have noticed today, we not only expect it - we demand it. Basically, we're nice folks, and we try to accommodate. But when you let your citizens - to say nothing of other nationalities - run us over, you're eventually going to provoke us. You've managed that quite well. Now - what are you going to do about it?
