Win One For Joey.

It's official, shop owner Joey Vento can keep his "This is America: WHEN ORDERING 'PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH' sign in his Philly cheesesteak shop. In a 2-1 vote a Commission on Human Relations panel found that his signs do not violate the city's Fair Practices Ordinance. Hopefully this will put an end to this B.S. but somehow I doubt it.

It's nice to see some sanity, although it must be noted that one of the three CHR panelists clearly is nuts.

Actually, there is no problem with the sign. You can write what ever you want. Even a "Whites Only" sign can be displayed. However, if someone goes into his shop and doesn't speak english, like say a tourist from Hungary, or even a deaf mute, the shop owner can be sued for discrimination.

The "right to refuse service" is actually just words and has been challenged in court around the nation.

I tell you what. If I lived in that town, I would go into this grimy little puke's resturaunt speaking Klingon pointing to what I wanted on the menu, then when he refused me service, I would own that greasy spoon. I would then bulldoze it and turn it into a day labor site.
